He took control of my computer to try several fixes. He finally uninstalled Office and then ran setup again. It worked fine until I restarted my computer, then it wouldn’t run at all. When this still didn’t help, I uninstalled Office from the Control Panel and then downloaded the program again from the Home Use Program email link. I restarted my computer to be on the safe side, and it’s working so far so good.

However by looking at the Office web site support section it appears that the latest version is is How long before it will auto-update to the latest?
